How to convert an XML file to DataTable or excel UiPath

A lot of times while working XML files in process automation, In order to process them bot first needs to convert an XML file to DataTable or excel.

After converting it to DataTable we can perform all the required operations with data present in the XML file.

In this article, let’s see how we can convert an XML file to DataTable or excel file using UiPath.

Let’s get into the practical implementation of this task:

Step2: Drag and Drop Build Data table activity from the activities panel to the designer panel and create a DataTable with columns as shown below:

Step2: Drag and Drop Read Text File activity from the activities panel to the designer panel to read the XML file as shown below:

The data in the XML file is stored in xmlfiledata Variable which is the output of read text file activity.

Step3: Drag and Drop Deserialize XML activity from the activities panel to the designer panel as shown below:

The output of the above activity is deserialiseddata variable that is of variable type XDocument.

Step4: Drag and Drop for each activity and inside of this activity add Add Data Row activity from the activities panel to the designer panel as shown below:

The required properties of for each activity is shown below:

The input for the Add Data Row activity is the DataTable that we created earlier in the Step1 and the values that are shown below:

Step5: Drag and Drop Write range activity from the activities panel to the designer panel as shown below:

This activity will write the whole data extracted from the XML file to the excel file.

The output is also stored in a DataTable so that it can be used in further process steps.
